You can check the overall resource status whether you are using resources efficiently. And you can remove unnecessary resources and optimize the resources.

  1. Select a cloud service: When you select a cloud service, the information will be displayed on the screen based on the selected cloud service.

  2. Last updated date and time: When you click the refresh button on the right, you can retrieve the current data from the cloud services.

  3. Right Sizing/Unused Resources/Settings tabs: You can select a tab.

    • Right Sizing tab: Through a resource performance analysis, it recommends Downsizing, Upsizing, Modernize, or Idle to the current resources according to the user-defined setting.

    • Unused Resources tab: For resources that are already created but not used or considered as not used, they are recommended as the Unused Resource for saving costs.

    • Settings tab: Users can add, edit and delete the setting information for Resource Optimization. When accessing the settings for the first time, the default condition is created automatically, and the system recommends Unused Resource and Right Sizing resources daily based on the default settings.

Right Sizing is one of the features to optimize resources and costs, helping you to manage your resources rationally by matching the instance type and size to your workload performance or capacity requirements. It allows you to identify resources that are being wasted due to too large or too small resources for your workload.

  1. Search conditions: You can check information by selecting cloud accounts and regions.

  2. Select products of cloud services: You can check information by selecting a specific cloud service product.

  3. Detailed information: Displays the recommendations for the Right Sizing.

    • Idle: Recommend to terminate the resource if the usage is less than the defined usage after analyzing the usage of CPU, Network, and Memory.

    • Downsize: Recommend to change to a lower price of resource if it falls below the usage defined during setting after analyzing the usage of CPU, Network, and Memory.

    • Upsize: Recommend to change to a higher performance resource if the usage exceeds the defined threshold after analyzing the usage of CPU, Network, and Memory.

    • Modernize: Recommend to change the current resources to the latest generation of the same resource type for a lower price and better performance.

  4. Search bar: You can search information by entering a search text.

  5. Download in Excel: You can download the information on the screen to an Excel file.

  6. Resource information table: Displays details of each resource.

The Unused Resource analyzes your data and identifies resources that are wasting money due to not being used. You can identify resources that are not being used by cloud service, and view the estimated savings if resources are used based on the recommendations.

  1. Search conditions: You can check information by selecting cloud accounts and regions.

  2. Select products of cloud services: You can check information by selecting a specific cloud service product.

  3. Search bar: You can search information by entering a search text.

  4. Download in Excel: You can download the information on the screen to an Excel file.

  5. Resource information table: Displays details of each resource.

You can set up recommendation conditions for resource optimization. When you access the resource optimization for the first time, a default condition is created automatically, and Unused Resource and Right Sizing resources are provided based on the condition. Users can directly create new recommendation conditions based on their needs. The Settings tab has three sub-tabs as below:

  1. Exclusion from Recommendation tab: Use the Exclusion Tag to remove specific resources from the recommendation list in order not to receive recommendations for certain resources. To use this feature, it is required to set Tag Key and Tag Value. After adding an item, click the [Save] button at the bottom right to save changes.

  2. Right Sizing tab: You can set conditions for recommendations to apply to the Right Sizing analysis for each cloud service. After changing the settings, click the [Save] button at the bottom right to save changes.

  3. Unused Resources tab: You can set conditions for recommendations to apply to the Unused Resource analysis for each cloud service. Use the toggle button and checkbox to activate the conditions. After changing the settings, click the [Save] button at the bottom right to save changes.
